Who’s Dshawn Sua

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. Before I share my story, I want to say this: I’m not looking for sympathy. Every experience I’ve lived through has shaped me into the person—and the artist—I am today. One lesson that has stayed with me comes from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from their point of view.” That belief has deeply influenced both my life and my art.

My name is D’shawn Aaron Sua. I was born in San Bernardino, raised in San Diego, and later returned to the Inland Empire in my early teens. As a child, I was naturally reserved, but I was endlessly curious—drawn to nature, school, music, cinema, and pop culture. I also loved athletics, once playing for Camp Pendleton’s youth basketball team and later trying out successfully for multiple school sports and dance programs.

But where I truly found my voice was in the arts. Music became my refuge in a noisy, chaotic world, and visual art became my language when words weren’t enough. My passion for drawing began when someone once showed me how to sketch a simple rose. That moment sparked something inside me that grew into a lifelong devotion to creativity. Over time, I developed my skills in painting and drawing, eventually passing the AP Art exam and winning multiple competitions in high school.

Art, for me, has always been a way to transform difficult emotions—loss, sadness, stress—into beauty and meaning. Now, as I continue to grow, I strive to channel not just the heavy emotions but also joy, love, devotion, and creativity. My work is a celebration of resilience and authenticity, and my goal is to inspire others to embrace their true selves and radiate their own creativity.

Each piece I create carries that story of transformation. By investing in my art, you are not only adding color and emotion to your space—you are also supporting a vision built on resilience, passion, and the belief that beauty can grow from every experience.

Life doesnt get easier or more forgiving. we get stronger and more resilient
